The web is always changing and there are obvious things that nobody seems to discuss about how you can reach more people. Would you believe that It takes less effort than it used to? Realizing simple things about your audience will have you positioned to reach a lot more people.

The first secret is to have cool conversations where others can see them. Have conversations with others in your niche, and your prospects. You can do this via your blog by linking to blog posts on other blogs that are interesting to you. Use their ideas to help you create something that your audience would be interested in reading. Link to their post inside of yours and they will get a notice called a “trackback” in their comments section. Most of the time, this will start a conversation that will bring you both more targeted traffic.

You can meet a ton of new people on Twitter. Do a Twitter search to find prospects talking about the type of products you sell. Watch them to stay updated on what they do and interact with your audience. As you talk to people, more people will want to talk to you.

Secret number two is your story. People don’t want to do business with companies, they want to work with people. What is the reason you sell what you do? Do you have a story related to your business? Has anything happened to you in the past that pushed you to do what you do? Get better customers and more sales by telling your story. This qualifies people and helps them get to know you better. Always think about the perception of you that your customers will take away from what you reveal, some things are better left unsaid.

Secret three is remembering that your audience people, too. People focus too much on numbers and statistics… Every potential customer is a person and you should always focus on that. Do you enjoy those annoying popup windows? They may not like it either. Optimize the experience of your visitors by thinking about what they would enjoy. You have to keep two specific things in mind – your sales and the experience of thos that come to your site. Always think of both to get better results with the same amount of traffic.

The fourth secret is relationships. Building the right relationships for your business can get you immediate massive traffic. I get a lot of joint venture requests every day. The ones I pay attention to are from people that I know and like. Consider how much easier it is to reach out to a friend and ask for their help. Wouldn’t that work better than sending a spammy email to someone you don’t know?

You should also be building relationships with your customers. The more they like you, the more they will buy from you. Do a show on Ustream, respond to people that comment on your blog posts, and deliver content they want to devour and enjoy.

The final secret is to find the communities in your market. Your prospects are already spending time hanging out somewhere online. Find them and join. Answer questions and help people. Then, they will start searching the web for you. Don’t post offers, just build your reputation by helping people. It takes some time, but before long, you’ll have a raving audience by becoming part of the community.
