<p>The truth, of course, is that it depends on quite a number of factors, and what you’re selling is a major component to what day and time is the best.  For example, if you’re selling office and business products, Tuesday through Thursday during the day might be the best times.  Why?  Because that’s when people from businesses might be bidding for office supplies and equipment.  And, I would have a tendency to exclude Monday and Fridays because some people might be taking a three-day weekend.</p>
<p>If you’re selling items that school-age kids might want to bid on, then the hours immediately after the school day would be good.</p>
<p>If you’re selling items that appeal to young adults, it’s good to take a look at the television schedule. Of course, you’ll always get bidders between those times, but it does seem that the intensity of the bidding builds up in the last hour or two. <p>Of course, if you have items that are in high demand you don’t have to worry too much about not having enough bidders.   Any time would be a good time to list your items.  But, for the most part, you do want to make sure you have the most bidders as possible.  Be sure you check for any special television programming that would take your bidders attention away from your auction.  And, if you have an auction limited to a geographic area, make you don’t end an auction during a special event, like a concert in that area.</p>
<p>If your item is not particularly in high demand, make sure your item’s not going to end when an auction for a similar item is going to end.  You want all potential bidders focused on your item, not split between yours and theirs.</p>
<p>As with all online selling, research is the key to a profitable outcome.</p>

<p>Many folks who write eBooks do so for informational marketing purposes, as it is a way to establish themselves as experts and promote their businesses online. But what if they are consultants? At some point they have to get paid for their knowledge, so others decide to sell their eBooks online and refuse to give the knowledge away.</p>

<p>Recently, someone had asked me to co-author an eBook which they would then sell to their customers, and I balked at first because, I would not wish to sell it is, as I would like to post it at my Online Think Tank site in the reading room and add it to my free-online eBooks, but I can also change the title and give my version away, slightly modify it, change the pictures, color back ground, etc.</p>
<p>While the co-author could sell it for whatever they wished. When asked what he might charge for this eBook, I thought something just under $20.00 but why? Well, I am a low-cost high-volume guy myself and there is a bit of a 1% negative growth rate currently in the US.</p>
<p>What&#8217;s this eBook about? It is an eBook on Blogging for Business. Now then, there are a couple of reasons to keep the price on an eBook low especially an eBook on the subject of blogging. For instance, you must remember that your eBook competes with other books and eBooks on the market. These books might be slightly better or more highly recommended by their fake blogging friends (fake because most of these people add themselves as friends, but have never actually met).</p>

<p>Now then, in this case study, if this was an actual book on the shelves of Borders or Barnes and Noble you would have to compete with the &#8220;For Dingbats&#8221; series and their blog book is $21.00 &#8220;Blogging for Ding Bats&#8221; and the competing book &#8220;The Everything Blogging Book&#8221; which is $14.95 &#8211; I own both in my library, both good neither are what a Business Blogger needs necessarily.</p>

Buying from a seller with a low feedback rating makes you feel a little nervous and insecure, while buying from a PowerSeller with their reputation in the thousands doesn&#8217;t require any thought or fear &#8211; it feels just like buying from a shop.</p>
<p>A Bad Reputation Will Lose You Sales.</p>
<p>In fact, a bad reputation will lose you almost all your sales. If someone leaves you negative feedback, you will feel the pain straight away, as that rating will go right at the top of your user page for everyone to see. Who&#8217;s going to want to do business with you when they&#8217;ve just read that you &#8220;took a month to deliver the item&#8221;, or that you had &#8220;bad communication and sent a damaged item&#8221;? The answer is no-one. </p>
<p>Your next few items will need to be very cheap things, just to push that negative down the page. You might have to spend days or even weeks selling cheap stuff to get enough positive feedback to make anyone deal with you again.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s even worse if you consistently let buyers leave negative feedback &#8211; once you get below 90% positive ratings, you might as well be invisible. </p>
<p>You Can&#8217;t Just Open a New Account.</p>

<p>A Good Reputation Will Get You Sales.</p>
<p>When a PowerSeller tells me something, I tend to believe them. They can be selling a pretty unlikely item, but if they guarantee it is what they say it is, then I trust them &#8211; they&#8217;re not going to risk their reputation, after all. This is the power of a reputation: people know you want to keep it, and they know you&#8217;ll go to almost any lengths to do so.</p>
<p>This is true even to the point that I would sooner buy something for $20 from a seller I know I can trust than for $15 from someone with average feedback. It&#8217;s worth the extra money to feel like the seller knows what they&#8217;re doing, has all their systems in place and will get me the item quickly and efficiently.</p>
<p>You really will find selling on eBay so much easier, and there&#8217;s only way to get a good reputation: make sure you please your customers every time. But some customers can be, well, just a little difficult to please. In the next email, we ask: is the eBay customer always right?</p>

<p>The summer of 2008 was dominated by the Beijing Olympics, a monumental U.S. presidential race, and the infamous Wall Street meltdown. However, in Internet Marketing circles, no written release created as much stir as Sylvie Fortin&#8217;s &#8220;Internet Marketing Sins&#8221; manifesto.</p>

<p>Fortin, a veteran Internet content and services provider (husband Michel is a well-respected copywriter) released Part 1 of &#8220;Internet Marketing Sins&#8221; in August, and all I can say is that it packs quite a wallop. If you&#8217;ve felt even a bit uneasy about some of the Internet marketing tactics and strategies you use these days, Sylvie is going to expose your guilt and shame you into confronting your demons.</p>
<p>Without naming anyone, Part 1 dissects 5 major problems she has with Internet Marketing today and proposes alternatives that everyone should consider. Needless to say, this report will force everyone &#8211; newbies, multi-millionaire &#8220;rock stars&#8221; and everyone in between &#8211; to choose sides in this never-ending battle to legitimize the business.</p>

<p>If, however, you are prepared to go through Part 1 and think about what it means for your business, then I recommend you do so as soon as possible.</p>
<p>Fortin has given name to my own misgivings about the industry, and it&#8217;s great to know that even established marketers are willing to stir the pot &#8211; even at the risk of offending many of the Internet&#8217;s heaviest hitters.</p>
<p>Fear not, for we have all committed our share of Internet Marketing sins. Sylvie herself admits to numerous offenses in her online career. It&#8217;s what we do moving forward with this information that counts.</p>
