One of the simplest methods to gain standing, leads, credibility and trust from your clients is to draft your own ebook.  

Many folks are intimidated by the very idea of creating their own ebooks but the reality is, the process is terribly straight-forward and it can be very moneymaking. If you’re already involved in activities such as blogging, article marketing and making relationships with newsletters, an e-book is only one step beyond in the whole process but can truly give your credibility rating an additional boost.

1. Select a topic for your target audience. Don’t make this into a huge product. Pick something comparatively narrow inside a major topic. So, as an example, if the main topic is “internet marketing”, select something that fits within that category like “article marketing”, or you might go even further and narrow it down to “keyword research for article marketing”.

bear in mind that for an e-book to work how you need it to, it must really look at the issues, concerns, or needs of your target audience. The content must be top-of-the-line.

2. Brainstorm. Write down every idea you have, walk away and come back and write more. Put down everything for the moment.

3. Organize your ideas into an outline. Divide your ideas into headers, subheaders, chapters and write descriptions of each point you include. Make sure to maintain a tally of your references and write those down too.

4. Research. Hopefully you’ve picked a subject that you are familiar with already but whether you have or haven’t you’ll need to do research to make your content as valuable as possible. Take notes, mark references and use quotes as you write your own electronic book.

5. Put your organized ideas and research into a very long article of at least 30 pages – this is your ebook!

6. Get a second viewpoint. Chances are you’ll spend rather a lot of time on this enterprise. Ensure that you step back once in a while to give yourself a break. And when you’re close to the end, ask some other person to read it for a more objective opinion. Whether it’s your chum, partner or a fellow marketer, ensure you get a good, fair critique and, if at all possible, edit of your work.

Once you are finished, you may either sell your electronic book from your blog or site or you can offer it free of charge for folk who sign up – the goal of this is to build your list.

If you decide on the 1st option, you’ll have to set up a shopping cart system. You don’t have to charge a lot for your e-book to make money and because it doesn’t cost you anything to create the book (if you do not count the time you spend on it) so anything you sell will be a profit.
